Fresh and fruity… La Vieille Ferme Rosé presents all the arguments of an attractive rosé.
The 2022 vintage experienced contrasting climatic hazards which made it possible to offer a good quality of grapes and a very promising aromatic complexity, with however a heterogeneous volume according to the plots. Winter and spring were particularly mild and very dry, with the months of January and May proving to be the driest since the beginning of the 20th century, with record temperatures in May and June. These conditions made it possible to maintain an excellent sanitary state of the vines, thanks to a total absence of diseases. The summer was then very sunny with high temperatures which presaged high potential in terms of alcohol, but saving rains in mid-August allowed the grapes to slowly continue to mature. The harvest thus began on August 19 under very good omens and 11 days ahead of 2021. It was punctuated by a few rains in September which did not alter the superb quality of the grapes but which made it necessary light sorting on the plot. We have worked our rosés with finesse, for elegant, fruity and low-alcohol wines. The reds were gently vinified, with delicate extractions which announce particularly balanced wines. The first tastings suggest a 2022 vintage full of promise, with complex and aromatic palates and very fine balance. We have worked our rosés with finesse, for elegant, fruity and low-alcohol wines. Breeding
The harvest takes place between the last days of August and mid-September, when the grapes reach optimum maturity. This is defined thanks to analyzes of maturity controls and berry tasting. The harvest takes place early in the morning in order to preserve the freshness of the berries and prevent the oxidation of the aromas. Pneumatic pressing upon arrival at the cellar allows the musts to be extracted. Fermentation starts after settling and lasts about 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. After fermentation, the wines are kept in stainless steel vats and lightly fined before bottling.
Service
10-12°C on hors d’oeuvres, cold buffet, tomato salad, grilled meats… and other meals that punctuate the beautiful season.
Tasting
Elegant limpid pale peach pink color with brilliant reflections. Very fresh and very fruity, the nose is particularly seductive, blending notes of red fruits and juicy summer fruits such as nectarine, peach and nectarine. With a beautiful liveliness, the mouth continues on beautiful fruity aromas while indulgence, well balanced by a slight bitterness on the finish which brings a lot of sapidity to this wine.
