The Kanonkop Estate has been handed down from father to son for four generations. Situated on the lower slopes of Simonsberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch region of the Cape, Kanonkop feels the benefit of long summer days and cool sea breeze. Also known as the ‘red wine bowl’ of South Africa, the region is thought my many to be the area producing the best wines in the country. They have the awards and trophies to prove it. With such perfect soil and location, irrigation is hardly needed. Pinotage is a particular success story and Kanonkop work with some of the oldest vines on the Cape.
