The Steenberg Five Lives presents itself in a dark and intense red, which turns into a lighter garnet red at the rim. On the nose, the blend of Merlot (62%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%) and Malbec (16%) impresses with wonderful aromas of prunes and blackcurrants, underpinned by cinnamon and fennel. The silky texture and elegant tannins caress the palate, while soft notes of blackberry jam, cherries and star anise provide a diverse taste experience. Enjoy the red wine, which was matured for 22 months in small French oak barrels, best with spicy or dark meat. The Steenberg Five Lives commemorates Catharina Ras, the founder of the winery. The life of this adventurous and courageous woman can be divided into five chapters, each telling a new chapter in the life of Catharina Ras.
