THE STORY
The historic soul of Ruffino, this wine’s first vintage was 1877. It was the pioneer in the ceaseless quest for “ideal wine”, the motto of the founding Ruffino cousins.

WINEMAKING NOTES
The fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for about 10 days with frequent pumpover. Once the malolactic fermentation has ended, the wine is refined in large steel and concrete tanks at controlled temperature for a few months before being bottled.

COLOR
Deep ruby red, dark heart.

AROMA
Intense with ripe red fruit, cherries macerated in alcohol and violets. The finish is reminiscent of the kitchen dresser with hints of woodland.

TASTING PROFILE
Dry, strong cherry overtones and poised tannins. The finish has a lovely acidity and sage nuances that bestows freshness and persistence.

FULL TASTING NOTES
Enjoyable, harmonious and distinctive. The wine pairs well with all Italian food.
