Pinot Grigio has a gray tone due to a natural genetic mutation of Pinot Noir, being considered a direct relative of this grape together with Pinot Blanc.
It requires special attention in its cultivation, preferring very cold climates and compatible soils. Based on the winemaking techniques used, the wine of this grape can undergo color variations: when using fermentation away from the skins, a wine with a lighter and clearer tones is obtained and occurring in contact with the skins, it presents a copper color.
